One might say that Tim Bendzko's latest album "Am Seidenen Faden" is hanging by a thread, but that would be an understatement. It's more like teetering on the edge of a cliff, desperately clinging on for dear life. Bendzko, known for his heartfelt ballads and pop anthems, seems to have lost his footing on this one, delivering an album that falls short of his usual standard. The opening track, "Leichtsinn," sets the tone with its lacklustre melody and uninspired lyrics. Bendzko's voice, usually a powerful instrument, sounds strained and hollow, as if he's phoning it in. As the album progresses, it becomes clear that he's lost his way, relying on clichéd hooks and tired tropes to carry the songs. Tracks like "Keine Maschine" and "Hoch" attempt to inject some energy into the album, but they fall flat, lacking the spark and originality that Bendzko is known for. Even the production, usually a strong suit for Bendzko, feels lacklustre and uninspired. In the end, "Am Seidenen Faden" feels like a missed opportunity for Bendzko. It's a shadow of his former self, a collection of songs that lack the depth and emotion that fans have come to expect. Here's hoping that Bendzko can pull himself back from the brink and deliver the music that we know he's capable of.
